How to Apply

You can  request a prospectus online or by contacting Catherine Holsgrove, our Registrar on 020 7228 3933. We are happy to make an appointment for you and your child to view the school, or alternatively simply turn up at one of our published Open Days to see the wide range of facilities and opportunities available at Thames.

The next step is for you to send us the completed application form together with your child's most recent school report, diagnostic reports if applicable, registration fee of £75 and copy of the child's birth certificate or passport. We will then invite the applicant to sit an entrance exam in order to gauge his or her academic potential. References are sought from previously attended schools. Finally your child will be invited to an enrolment interview, which is of key importance in the application process. All applications are handled in confidence and the decision of the Head is final. The school is not obliged to state its reasons for rejection of an applicant.

Applications for September 2009 should be received no later than 30th November 2008. We still have a very limited number of places available for immediate entry into our current Years 7, 8 and 9.

Victoria's Story

Victoria left Thames in July 2008 with an impressive set of GCSE results that were a grade and a half higher than her CATs predictions. She achieved 100% A*-B passes with A*s in Religious Studies, Maths and Business Studies and As in English, Spanish, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and PE and Bs in English Literature and ICT.

Victoria was a Peer Group Mentor, trained by Wandsworth Youth Inclusion Project, and gave up time each week to mentor needy children at nearby Falconbrook Primary School as part of our mentoring programme. Victoria has gained a place at the respected and hugely popular Esher College in Surrey.
