We aim to foster an enjoyment and fluency in Mathematics, leading to success and confidence in this vital subject. Problem-solving and critical thinking strategies are interwoven into the Mathematics syllabus, developing the pupils' ability to think independently.

Pupils regularly take part in the UK Maths Challenge which stimulates interest in Maths and tests pupils' reasoning and mental agility. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to top performers and many Thames pupils have attained these medals over the years.

Chris's Story

A very able pupil, especially in Maths, Chris achieved 100% A*-C passes with A*s in Maths and Personal Finance,  As in English, English Literature, Science, Additional Science and Religious Studies and Bs in Music, Art and ICT. Chris gained a place at the much sought-after Tiffin Boys' School in Kingston where he went on to study Maths, Physics and Music for his A levels.

The school has been sufficiently flexible to enable my son to take his Maths GCSE in Year 10, where he achieved an A*. He is now studying for his Maths AS a year early.
