Our school was created for pupils who want to achieve their highest potential in an environment where they feel safe and anti-social behaviour is not tolerated. We believe that most children, in the right environment, have the ability to achieve well at GCSE and go on to higher education. Our excellent track record demonstrates this, achieved by our focus on a high standard of discipline, an atmosphere of mutual respect and by paying attention to individual pupils' needs.

Thames Christian College currently has just over 120 pupils aged 11-16 years. The school is small enough to meet individual needs and ensure personal qualities are brought out to the full. Yet it is large enough to offer a very broad range of subjects from traditional academics to the creative arts.

Whilst we accept pupils with varying levels of academic ability, many are academically gifted. Some are talented artistically, creatively or in sport. Others have qualities yet to be realised. We believe that almost every child is good at something.

Particular importance is placed on the enrolment interview in our application process, which is designed to ensure that your child has the positive qualities we seek and meets our minimum academic standard. A church-going background is not a prerequisite for entry, but every pupil and family must demonstrate the highest regard for and fully support our Christian values, especially those of honesty and integrity.

We currently have a handful of places in Years 7, 8 and 9. There is still space in Year 10, having created additional places in Year 10 in September 2011 when we split the class into two to achieve even more focus. We do not accept pupils into Year 11 owing to the fact the GCSE course is a two-year course.
