You can request a prospectus online or by contacting Catherine Holsgrove, our Registrar, on 020 7228 3933. We are happy to make an appointment for you and your child to view the school, or alternatively simply turn up at one of our published Open Days to see the wide range of facilities and opportunities available at Thames.

Once you are happy to proceed, the next step is for you to send us the completed application form, together with your child's most recent school report, diagnostic reports if applicable, registration fee of £75 and copy of the child's birth certificate or passport. We will then invite the applicant to sit an entrance exam in order to assess his or her academic potential. References are sought from previously attended schools. Finally your child will be invited to an enrolment interview, which is of key importance in the application process. All applications are handled in confidence and the decision of the Head is final. The school is not obliged to state its reasons for rejection of an applicant.

There are still a limited number of places available for Year 7 in September 2010 in our second wave of applications. Additionally, we are expanding our Year 10 class in September 2010 and welcome applications from current Year 9 pupils or those currently in Year 10 who wish to repeat Year 10 next year. If you wish to apply to go on the waiting list for our current Year 7 and 8 classes, please contact us.

Applications for September 2011 should be received no later than 19th November 2010. We recommend applying as early as possible and hand delivery of your application to ensure its safe arrival.

Misha's Story

Misha has always been gifted at Maths and completed her Maths GCSE in Year 10, easily achieving an A* grade. She left Thames with 6 A* grades in English, English Literature, Maths, Chemistry, Spanish and Religious Studies and 4 A grades in Biology, Physics, Business Studies and Art. Misha gained a scholarship to James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich for her A levels. Misha received Gold Awards in the UK Maths Challenge over her time at Thames and was a member of the National Academy of Gifted and Talented Youth.

Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding. A high priority is placed on developing the whole person and in finding at least one aspect of the curriculum in which every individual can excel. This fostering of individual talent helps build students' self-esteem and their outstanding personal development.
