During Key Stage 3 pupils undertake projects in Design Technology and Textile Design as part of the Art curriculum. Pupils fulfil briefs using problem solving skills that put creative thinking central to the design process; skills are then taught to help pupils realise these ideas in a variety of media including wood, textiles and ceramics.
At Key Stage 4, pupils have opportunities to develop their GCSE Art and Design projects in an individual way; whether creating Flash animations, CAD designs or working with wood or metal. Macbooks equipped with the Creative Suite (CS4) package enable pupils to work with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Tali's Story
Tali is an extremely talented artist and all round student. Not content with just one Art GCSE and having completed the entire coursework component by the end of Year 10, Tali decided to take a second Art GCSE. Her exceptional talent was rewarded with A* in both exams.
Lessons are interactive and stimulating, delivered by a dedicated staff team, some of whom are practitioners as well as teachers, thus preparing pupils for further education and professional life.
