Thames Christian College believes that pupils should be able to learn in a safe environment free from interruptions due to poor discipline and bullying. A special quality of pupil/teacher relationship exists, with respect, friendship and courtesy central to our ethos.

High standards of behaviour, respect for each other and for learning are expected. Discipline procedures within the school are positive, systematic, restorative and scrupulously fair. Success, achievement and good behaviour are rewarded in many ways, with effort and significant improvement recognised.

Our goal is that pupils develop the self-discipline necessary to succeed in later life. Business and industry leaders recognise that character, confidence, initiative, good attitudes, the ability to work in a team and interpersonal skills are essential for success. We therefore value and encourage attitudes of truthfulness, kindness, respect, courtesy and self-reliance.

Bithiah's Story

Bithiah is an example of what can be achieved with a good attitude and sheer hard work. A former Head Girl, she was an excellent role model within the school.

She achieved A* in Art, Bs in Maths, Double Science, Religious Studies and ICT and Cs in English, English Literature and Spanish. Her hard work gained her nearly 2 grades higher than her CATs predictions and in Art, 3 grades higher. Bithiah went on to take A levels at Lady Margaret's School in Fulham.

Students' behaviour is outstanding and they are courteous, articulate and confident. They build strong relationships with each other that are based on mutual respect and support.
